Concern for Israel

Posted By dave on September 23, 2009

Those of us who are praying for the Lord’s return have learned to keep our eyes upon the nation of Israel. That’s why I am so very concerned about President Obama’s speech today. His statement about Israel’s occupation of Palestine since 1967 was the most anti-Israel statement by any American President. He clearly is asking Israel to give up Jerusalem as a united city. I find myself driven to my knees, not so much out of concern for Israel….God will take care of Israel. But I have very real concern for the United States. Our President is leading us against what I believe, God desires for Israel. It is a dangerous and perilous position for a nation to take. Pray for our President and his advisors. Lord, help him to see what You are doing on planet earth and the role of Israel in world events.

The 12th Imam

Posted By dave on August 30, 2009

Iran’s Supreme Leader, the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, called on Muslims in neighboring countries this week to intensify preparations for the coming of the Islamic Messiah known as the Mahdi or the “Twelfth Imam.” He specifically urged Muslims to mobilize forces to defeat the United States and Israel.

“We have to train honest forces that can stop the obstacles that may hinder the coming of the Mahdi like the United States and Israel,” the Ayatollah said through a spokesman, in a story reported by al-Arabiya, the Arabic-language news channel based in the Gulf.

“Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s spokesman, Ali Saeedi, said countries like Turkey, Iraq, Lebanon, Pakistan and Afghanistan should gather together all their forces in order to make drastic changes to prepare for the coming of al-Mahdi al-Montazar, Arabic for ,the awaited guided one,’” reported al-Arabiya.

The story did not specify what “drastic changes” the Ayatollah had in mind.

“Saeedi also said that the supreme leader of Iran is the direct representative of the Mahdi and that obeying him is like obeying the ‘guided one,’ who is the prophesized savior of Islam,” explained the report. “‘Since the armed forces are commanded by the Supreme Leader, they are thus obeying the orders of the awaited Mahdi,’ Saeedi said, adding ‘the Revolutionary Guards and the armed forces in Iran hold religious authority to prepare for the appearance of the Mahdi.’”

Messianic Movement in Israel

Posted By dave on July 28, 2009

(Israel)—Christian World News (CWN) reports that in Israel, there is an attention-getting resurgence in the number of Jews who believe in Jesus, with many leaders saying it’s the strongest growth since the time of Jesus and that the Messianic movement could be on the brink of a great revival. (Photo: CWN)

“This is the first time where we’ve seen Israeli society in general being so open to consider who Yeshua is,” said Messianic leader Asher Intrater. “This is a real miracle, and there’s beginning to be grace and favor with us in the land.”

“I believe with all my heart, after we have come back to the land, we are seeing the Lord, the Holy Spirit, is removing the veil from the eyes of the Jews and more and more Jews are realizing,” Tel Aviv pastor Avi Mizrachi said.

The report notes that although nobody knows for sure how many Messianic Jews live in Israel, it’s believed there are about 120 congregations now and 10,000-15,000 Jewish believers in Jesus. Ten years ago, it adds, there were only about 3,500 Jewish believers and 80 congregations.

No fear

Posted By dave on June 24, 2009

How do you respond to the events going on in the world? An economy that is the worst in decades? Nuclear weapons in the hands of the unstable? A cultural war in our own nation? The most natural response is that of fear or worry. We are a nation medicating itself because of our high stress levels.
Many years ago, President Frankin Roosevelt told a nation paralyzed by fear over the Great Depression that the only thing they had to fear, was fear itself. Fear paralyzes us and prevents us from taking the actions needed to address the issues we face. I believe that Jesus is saying to the Church today…the only thing you have to fear is fear itself. Do not be afraid….look to Jesus. God has not abdicated His throne. Nothing has taken Him by surprise. The kingdom is advancing! It is not a time for fear, but courage. May our churches be places where courage is given and fear is banished.

Church focus

Posted By dave on June 18, 2009

Here’s an exciting use for the book. The Connection Pointe Christian Church in Brownsburg, IN is using the book as a basis for their July sermon series and small groups. There will be 4 sermons based on the flow of the book, with small groups following the same layout. They have asked me to come and preach the last message on Aug.2. It’s an exciting use for this book.

North  Korea tests nuclear warhead! Iran close to going nuclear! Anybody else wondering if we are seeing significant pieces moving into place that may indicate the soon appearing of the Lord? Whether or not the events relate to the Second Coming, Christians are to deal with these issues without fear or anxiety. Jesus told us that he will give us his peace. It is a peace that is different from the world. The world’s peace is dependant upon circumstances remaining calm. The peace of Christ is intended to guard our hearts even in the midst of turmoil.

Book Release

Posted By dave on May 19, 2009

I’m getting excited! The book is due to be shipped by the end of this week, so we should have it in our hands by early next week (May 26-28). Now it’s time to get the word out. We can use your help. Our marketing budget is basically zero. We’ll need word of mouth to let people know that there is a book out that can help them deal with the tough times we’re going through. It also of course, encourages readers to consider the prophecies of Scripture that point to the Lord’s Return and to begin to pray the kinds of prayers that prepare us for all He has for us. I’ll be eager to hear your responses to the book and the content of this website.
